• Learn and Grow’s aim is to develop innovative pilot projects that will assist unemployed and economically inactive people secure employment, training, education or voluntary work.

Our objectives are to:

  • Research best practice to deliver our aim.
  • Pilot projects based on our research.
  • Action research and evaluation of the projects we develop and deliver to critically examine what happened and how we can improve.
  • Support other organisations in the voluntary sector through securing funding to develop and deliver projects that will assist them meet their aims and objectives with their clients.
  • Provide expertise and resources for primarily voluntary sector organisations that will assist them in the delivery of projects including; project management, tender development, action research and evaluation and specialist support staff or expertise.
  • Utilise Music and Cooking as part of the Recovery Pathway

Learn and Grow Community Interest Company was registered in December 2011 and started delivering programmes in March 2012. It was initially established to deliver a Department for Work and Pensions/Jobcentre Plus Flexible Support Fund programme for people with mental health conditions (recruit 100 participants and progress 40 into employment). Learn & Grow CIC brought together Growing Space, a mental health charity with a training provider, ACT-Learn About to deliver this Flexible Support Fund programme.

Learn and grow are currently delivering 2 Active inclusion Projects (Plant to Plate, Pathways out of Lockdown) and work closely in Partnership with Growing Space, because it is a non-profit CIC it has used its funding to invest in developing a mental health music centre, cooking and retail training and specialist 1 to 1 support.
